Walked into the office and do you know who I saw lounging in his leather chair this morning?
Drunk Manager.
I was shocked to find out rehab and AA is now only 4 days long.
No?
Well... That's my office integrity for you.
Good times.
I can't explain it right, but this problem bothers me more than anything I have experienced in this job. AND IT DOESN'T EVEN INVOLVE ME!!!
I should let it go. I should stop thinking about it. I should ignore it completely because it doesn't involve me.
But I can't!
I won't talk about it either. I'll just sit in my office and stew over it for the next several weeks (thinking about how this company is barely staying afloat but they are choosing to waste over 100K per/year on a dude's salary who does fucking NOTHING. Or the fact that they are willing to pay him 100% of his salary while he was going to be in rehab but they are only willing to pay me 50% of my salary for only 4 -FOUR- weeks of maternity leave!!!) or until the dude shows up for work again walking into walls demanding to find out where his cell phone is and I'm going to snap like Michael Douglas a la William Foster in Falling Down.

It really depends on what type of insurance you have. A few days of in-patient care cost a lot and most people take a few tries at rehab before they get it right.
some serious advice: look into the Family Medical Leave Act and make sure that they give you as much time off as mandated by law. If for any reason you have a c-section instead of a regular delivery you have me out for at least 6 weeks. You will not be able to walk around and do your-every-day type of things.

I do not blame you one bit for being pissed off. I happen to be unemployed right now and would work for half his salary! Hell, I'd just be happy with a payment from the state!! Ugh...I hate people who get everything for nothing!!
I know the job market is pretty rough out there, but maybe it's time to take a look and see what else is out there. Or maybe write your own song.
its kind of hard to ignore when people have been laid off and hours have been cut. i understand addiction is a disease, blah blah blah, but come on! the enabling thats going on is ridiculous!
God, my office is stressful and everyone's pretty much awesome at their jobs. I can't imagine trying to get anything done with a jackass like that in the way. Way to thumb your nose at the failing economy, execs! (I'm not sure I said that right.)

He's GOT to have some dirt on somebody there. I've simply never understood why companies have such a problem firing these assholes who waste space (and money).

My school is the place where they put all of the teachers who can't teach (because my principal SUCKS). Those of us who were hired in and actually CAN teach are frustrated EVERY day. I feel you pain. I feel you pain.

You need to leak info to important client who will get him fired.
You need to document how company treats him and then if you don't get equal treatment then you have case to sue your company for disciminating against you -- if they let you go while your on maternity leave.

oh man that would make me livid too, only 4 weeks of maternity leave? and the guy gets to keep coming back . you have every right to be pissed. so annoying.
Ok now this guy is making me mad. I can't believe he is back. My advice: kick him in the balls.
